Hi there. I’m Sumaya (she/they), founder of Present Moment Media. 

Sumaya K. Owens is the CEO and Founder of Present Moment Media, a boutique agency driving growth for digital health with ethical, data-informed strategy. They believe in utilizing media and technology as a tool for social and cultural impact. Her vision is to incorporate ethical marketing, equity in media, and trauma-informed leadership into each unique strategy they create and deliver. Sumaya is passionate about integrating ethics, privacy, and sustainability into conversations on the intersection of health, technology, and artificial intelligence.

Sumaya is also a trauma-informed yoga teacher, podcast host, and community leader. She is the host of Embodied Leadership in Action Podcast, which highlights conversations at the intersection of behavioral health, health equity, and trauma-informed leadership. Sumaya volunteers for grassroots organizations across the globe with immigrant and refugee populations. In addition, they frequently offer workshops, trainings, and retreats on mindfulness, stress management, and trauma-informed practices for business and nonprofit leaders.
